Nabeya — A traditional Japanese hot pot restaurant experience.
Nabeya
Hitoyoshi Onsen Nabeya” was founded in the 12th year of the Bunsei era (1829) in what is now Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, as an inn for travelers of the Sagara Domain.
Over the course of its more than 190-year history, it has welcomed guests ranging from members of the Imperial Family to various cultural figures and celebrities.
As a long-established ryokan representing not only Hitoyoshi Onsen but also Kumamoto Prefecture, the inn has upheld this tradition of confronting turbulent times with dignity and resilience, including the Meiji Restoration and World War II, as well as various challenges in recent years, such as natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yet, thanks to all its loyal customers who love and patronize Nabeya, Nabeya has been able to keep our doors open to this day. Learning from the past to discover the future, Nabeya invites you to enjoy its history and the new charms it has brought to life.
